For a web application or stand-alone server application that you would recommend, and why?

• has a giant application.log where everything is logged;
• have many smaller magazines:

I like to use databases for logging. Four useful features:

• You do not lose time ordering as you experienced while viewing multiple log files at the same time.
• You can still filter certain types of messages if you want.
