Java: obsolete tools

Once a method is marked obsolete, are there any tools that replace these methods with obsolete workarounds?

Automated tools can only intelligently handle cases where a new preferred method or class is used to perform exactly the same task. In any case, when the method is deprecated due to a defective design (I think something deals with the date in Java) or because the "best" way is now supported (think that AWT for Swing or SWT) takes a lot of time to automate. >

This is a good idea, but I suspect that implementing it in a useful way will lead to more complexity than it will remove. In addition, I would be very wary of a tool that did this for me completely automatically - I would probably like to see all the changes anyway. At this point, as a rule, it will not save a lot of time before doing it manually for a start.
