Is there an API for accessing Google group data?

I am trying to create some statistics for an email group in which I participate. Is there any Python API for accessing email data in a GoogleGroup?

In addition, I know that some statistics are available on the group’s homepage. I am looking for something more complex than what is shown there.

There is no API that I know of, however you can access and manage the XML feed as needed.
