Location data is essentially in a tree structure. Therefore, when you ask someone at their address, you would like to know in which district / suburb, city / city, state / province and country they live.
This data, we hope, will be configured only once and need very little modification. Most e-commerce sites and many others will need to store this type of information, but I'm struggling to find a lot about it. Maybe because I'm not looking for the right term, but I thought it would be a common problem that has already been resolved.
This leads to another question. Where can I get information about this type, for example, which areas belong to that city, which cities the states belong to and which states belong in which countries?
EDIT: To complicate the situation, I would like to provide a general solution, because, for example, some countries do not use postal codes, they use postal codes, this is one and the same thing, but not quite, My big desire is Region / Suburb → City / City → Region / Province / State → Country. Perhaps I will try to do the impossible.
