Can i connect iphone to printer via bluetooth?

I want to connect the iphone to the printer via bluetooth, but I did not find any class about bluetooth in the iPhone 3.0 SDK. Do I need to join the “Made for iPod and works with iPhone licensing program” program to get the SDK? Or can you do this without joining the program?

Even if you join the MFI / WWi developer program, it is not possible to connect your iPhone to a custom printer. The printer will need to specifically create iPhone compatibility and enable the Apple chip. The program is intended for device manufacturers to create separate iPod / iPhone devices, and not for independent developers or device manufacturers with existing bluetooth products.

"and enable Apple-specific chip"

Trash! Bluetooth Bluetooth is Bluetooth. What is needed for proper Bluetooth support on iPhone.

You might want to register with GameKit. I just used it to connect two iPods via Bluetooth. Apple has done all the hard work and with just a few lines of code, you can find an iPod to search for Bluetooth devices. If you run your own Wi-Fi networks, you can even do iPod / iPhone searches for a printer using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi relatively easily.
