Vim comma key not working

It turns me on. Using Vim 7.2.182 on Gentoo. In insert mode, my comma key does nothing. There is nothing in .vimrc, including the comma key .: map does not display a display containing a comma. This is not a keyboard or a similar problem: the comma key works fine in all other applications and in Vim mode in command mode, etc. But when I switch to Insert mode, pressing a key does nothing. I even tried to explicitly match the comma with the comma, but this seems to have no effect. Google searches have been fruitless. Any clues?

solved. One way or another, I had:

set cinkeys=0{,0},:,!,0#,!^F

in my .vimrc. By deleting !, Fixed the problem.
