Good Resources for Creating a GUI in Visual Studio

I work more and more with desktop applications, and my succ GUIs. I am familiar with the basics of GUI design, but I have problems with practice.

I'm looking for good (or at least decent) guides for creating ( not designing! ) A GUI in Visual Studio.

Otherwise (I haven’t found much from the usual sources), I have to ask: is it possible / worth the effort to create a GUI with the VS2K5 Design view? This is what I mainly used since I am a visual person.

In particular, I am looking for help in "nuts and bolts" for the implementation of the completed design

I am not opposed to installing additional tools if necessary, but my preference is to stick to what you get through installing Vanilla VS2k5, if possible.

The Visual Studio Designer for WinForms works very well. I use it all the time when creating WinForms applications. An alternative approach is to define user interface elements in the code, which is rather painful.
