I am looking to access an API (hopefully this is an agnostic of the platform) that allows me to get real-time (or as close as possible) stock prices / volume (hopefully).
I am not a professional trader and cannot afford anything really expensive (although I am ready to pay an honest bit per month for such a service). I want to track about 500 stocks (SP500) for starters.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I do not want to use something like Google, because I would actually steal a large bandwidth and could be blocked for abuse of the service.
