What is the recommended height for the landscape toolbar

For holographic design, the recommended height of the action bar is 40 dp during the landscape according to Jake Wharton: https://stackoverflow.com/a/418829/

I was wondering, for what material design, what is the recommended height of the toolbar?

I cannot find information in the Google Design Guide: http://www.google.com/design/spec/components/toolbars.html

The reason I ask, because I have an unpleasant view in landscape mode. Recommended Solution - Increase Text Size: Android Toolbar: Small title text in landscape mode

I'm just wondering, instead of increasing the size of the text, should I just reduce the size of the toolbar in landscape mode? I tend to look at the GMail app.

It looks like Google expects smaller text size and lower toolbar height in the landscape. So what is the maximum height for the landscape toolbar?

Toolbar is a common component that can be added to any part of your user interface - when used as the main action bar for branding, navigation and actions, it is called the Application Bar .

From the metrics in the application panel, the correct heights are:

  • Mobile landscape: 48dp
  • Mobile Portrait: 56dp
  • Tablet / Desktop: 64dp
