How to make sure that momentum persists after an important stage of development?

My team (4 people) has just reached an important milestone in our development, putting us at about 2/3, but I think that stress was catching up with everyone, and all the gears were almost stopping, it was 1/5 of the original speed. I wanted to ask the SO community how best to deal with this; I identified the following issues.

  • Lack of clear focus and direction. It seems that we are facing minor improvements on the side, but we are not working for anything at the center of the project, so I think this is causing us enthusiasm.

  • Based on a very strong development. It seems to have made everyone want to truly “relax,” which is good for a bit, but progress has yet to be made.

  • The rest of the tasks are more tiring than glamorous. This is the character of the beast, but I have not yet tamed it effectively.

Any help is appreciated.

Some downtime is necessary after reaching the main stages. People need to relax and unzip. Pressing simply carries stress and fatigue forward, and the team will not work anywhere near their potential.

Give everyone a couple of days a week and let them return fully updated and ready to continue.

Tell them you only need 3 people to complete the project.
