The easiest way to get sql 08 spatial data on a map?

I have a database with a number of records containing lat and long points that I want to get on the map. The level of detail that I need depends on the level of the Australian street and to the level of the country, and this can be either pure map data (suburbs, streets, etc.), or aerial photographs. This is purely for personal purposes, and output should not be quality production. I guess either Bing maps or Google Earth is the way to go - can someone point me in the right direction for a very quick and easy implementation? Thanks!

The best approach I have found for this so far is Craig Dunn Geoquery . I need to spend a little more time getting to know him, but on the surface it looks like a pretty neat tool.

:

GeoServer can display data in any popular mapping application such as Google Maps, Google Earth, Yahoo Maps, and Microsoft Virtual Earth. In addition, GeoServer can connect to traditional GIS architectures, such as ESRI ArcGIS.

Hope this helps.
