Has anyone tried to write a pidgin or libpurple plugin in Val? From a quick overview of Vala's homepage, it seems that it would be a great language for him and would provide a good opportunity to learn Vala, but learning Vala and the great art of Pidgin plugins is also a little overwhelming at the same time. Does anyone have pointers?
Pidgin-Games is a pidgin plugin written in vala. You can see the source code http://pidgin-games.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pidgin-games/trunk/src/ . You will probably want to read Vala and the code samples first if you haven’t already.
I also started writing VAPI for libpurple, and I was also able to write a small libpurple client for testing in Vala ... So the answer can only be of course !;)
