I noticed that there is a very dramatic difference in user experience for logging in with different relying parties. I myself have implemented several relying parties, so I already have several ideas, but I'm curious to hear from other people what worked and what didn’t. Empirical data (OpenID login statistics before / after) would be ideal, but anecdotal things are fine too. Even a little tricks would be interesting.
How many identifying factors are included in the equation? Yahoo is obviously terrible, while myOpenID is pretty good. Verisign is like a repository, and I'm starting to think that this greatly complicates the user's work. But what about others? Have you seen how users have more problems with one provider than another?
What best practices, if any, can be derived from this?
