What OS software is missing in the .NET world?

I am a .NET developer working with the Java and Eclipse developers. They seem to be working with much more open source code than ever. Some / most seem to have switched to .NET (Hibernate to NHibernate is a great example of this.)

But I'm curious what OS software did n't get into the .NET world there? What people feel is absent. I am interested in both business applications and development tools.

(Background: asking this question to myself, I thought I understood that I would like to fill the holes, if any.)

thanks

Edit: In light of the recent creation of the CodePlex Foundation, perhaps the answers here may indicate which projects we will see.

Hadoop is a good example.

AFIAK is not the open source .NET equivalent. This is a shame, it is a really good infrastructure for cluster software.

Another example is the GNU Science Library:

I would say that overall mathematical / scientific routines are sorely lacking in .NET, IMO.NET is currently pretty much biased towards a data-based developer, as a scientific developer does. For reference: System.Data is a massive namespace, System.Math is a simple simple class. :)
