Ubuntu 8.10 monitoring software on Slicehost?

I am new to server administration and I am looking for some options to monitor my fragment (ruby on rails site) on slicehost. Ideally, a lively view of status and workload would be wonderful.

Any suggestions?

Slicehost & scout

We used scout to monitor our Rails applications and their fragments on slicehost. It works very well and is very, very easy to install. The key features for me are (reasonably) a wide range of monitoring agents and low cost.

If you have an iPhone, you should take a look at iStat. There is an open source version of the monitoring demo that works well on Ubuntu.
