What is everyone's opinion on the difference in ease of merging between Subversion 1.5.6 and 1.6.3?

We are thinking of upgrading to the latest version of Subversion. Does it really make merging easier? And how painful is the upgrade process?

Have you read the 1.6 release notes ?

The update is really painless, mainly because of this note:

There is no need to reset and reboot your repositories. Subversion 1.6 can read repositories created earlier versions. To upgrade an existing installation, simply install the latest libraries and binaries on top of the older ones.
