How to write applescript in Snow Leopard?

Question

I open ScriptEditor, click "Record", click on the icons in the document, open "System Preferences", and then stop in ScriptEditor, and nothing happens, which means that I do not get the script. Nothing was recorded.

Can anyone write any applescript using the Script Editor under Snow Leopard? Am I doing something wrong?

You can only record applications that are recorded for recording. Try recording some actions in the Finder and it should work.
