Is Pentaho ETL and Data Analyzer a good choice?

I searched the ETL tool and found out about the Pentaho Kettle lottery.

I also need a data analyzer to work in Star Schema so that a business user can play and generate any report or matrix. PentaHo Analyzer looks good again.

The other part of the application will be developed in java, and the application must be an agnostic database.

Is Pentaho good enough or are there other tools that I should check out.
