a common problem
How do retailers hinder the activation of gift cards or prepaid phone / debit cards?
They must have a system that does not allow you to call in order to activate cards that have not been verified through the register, and I assume that there should be a standard solution in retail ERP / accounting systems. This is probably due to web services or EDI.
Specific problem
I ask for all this because one of my customers wants me to develop the product you got into by buying a $ 30 card at a retail store. There is a unique number on the map. Once you have purchased a card and activated it through the website, coupons for restaurants, etc. Periodically sent to you by email.
However, if someone had to steal a bunch of cards or figure out the numbering sequence, we donβt want the cards to work.
This is presumably a problem because retailers do this with the products above (prepaid calling cards, etc.).
I can think of several ways to solve this problem, but I need to provide the βstandardβ solution that retailers expect, so that the product will work fine in its infrastructure.
Thanks a lot!
