Premature Optimization and its rejection are both examples of the relay effect.

Confirming bias is a big problem in troubleshooting: you have a preconceived notion of what your code should do, and when there will be no result, when you expect it becomes difficult to understand where your assumptions are inappropriate. Running code in a visual debugger can help break this.
