Link to a non-standard version of the assembly?

I get this error in the application,

Failed to load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version = 6.2.2.0, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = c5687fc889699c44d "or one of its dependencies. The located containment manifest does not match the assembly reference.

It is expected that a previous version of .dll was installed on this installation.

Can I tell (in Vs2008) a link to this MySQL.data.dll file and not care about its version? The MYSQL.data.dll link in the project has the "Specific Version" property, although setting it to false does not make any difference.

I am well aware of the implication if this .dll is binary incompatible with the required.
