Zip codes within a Google Map radius

Hope someone can advise

I would like to be able to use the google API to search all zip codes / cities with x miles of point.

Has anyone done such a thing with a google map or perhaps another type of service.

I would like to know how it happened!

There is nothing in the Google Maps API that could help with this, and I have never heard of a service that could be grinded using Google Maps.
