Sometimes there are no new files from Subversion

Here is our scenario:

Developer A checks for changes that include new file files. Developer B updates and suddenly interrupts the material because the files are missing. Developer B tries another update, nothing gets pulled, so he calls developer A. Developer A says, "Hey, I checked them, are you blind?" Only when Developer B uses the TortiseSVN Repo Browser does he see that new files are really available. The fix is to “update the item before revision in the TortiseSVN Repo Browser. Even if Developer B is updated through TortoiseSVN in Explorer or the Subversive client in Eclipse, it does not see new files. We also cannot see the file through the Cygwin SVN command-line client .

This does not always happen, and we cannot reproduce it at our discretion. But when this happens, it is very annoying.

This will happen if the working copy of sparse (aka small, non-recursive). Perhaps this is a problem.

You can indicate whether the working copy is non-recursive by running svn infoon it and looking for a type string Depth: immediates. Normal working copies will not have this line.
