Yes, it is officially supported since version 2.2.x, for which I can’t remember the exact number. This was written in the release notes. The last few releases of version 2.2 have continued to add bug fixes related to 1.9. The upcoming version 3.0 officially supports 1.9.2 (although this does not mean that 1.9.2 does not work yet).
You cannot run two versions of Ruby at the same time, but in the task list.
