Tips for creating an Xcode window?

I have been converting to Xcode and OS X quite recently. Although I have two large monitors, it seems to me that I spend a lot of time hunting for windows.

I usually have at least the following windows:

  • The file I am editing.
  • The corresponding header file.
  • Another source file.
  • API documentation.
  • Browser window.

It seems that everything I want is always under something else. There are many ways to switch windows (for example, Exposé, Spaces, OS X keyboard shortcuts, Xcode keyboard shortcuts), but this is part of the problem. There are so many different approaches; I cannot blindly use them; I have to think about what is right for every situation.

How do you arrange your Xcode windows to not switch all the time?

Or how do you effectively switch between windows?
