I am building a website with tons of 1999 navigation capitalization and headings. I just add text content as it appears (in capital letters), but another designer in the project insists on using lowercase text in his HTML document and in the header using an application style:
.tedious {text-transform:uppercase;}
I understand the argument of separating the style from the content, but in this case it really doesnโt matter, because I personally will not support the site, and I canโt even imagine that the client will need to non-identify all this text. The question is: 1. will search engines even pay attention to the capitalization of the text in the document, and 2. will the searcher go so far as to read my stylesheet and look for such things (I think not). I know that BOLD, STRONG, EM, etc. They have a (diminishing) effect on SEO, so I can imagine a scenario where CAPS will be, but I have never heard that someone really claims, not to mention it.
Digging this site the last few months. The first post.
