First working day on Android phones

According to the Androids documentation, I get the impression that Android only supports counting the number of ISO 8601 numbers (this is good for me since I live in Austria).

So, I think that Monday starts the Android week. This is important to me because I want to read / write the Androids calendar, and the repetition rules are encoded by the rfc2445 standard. The field in question is "WKST"

Part of the WKST rule defines the day on which the work week begins.

As long as my application is used at Europa, there is no problem assuming Monday is the first day of the week. But what about other countries (USA)?

Is my assumption correct?

Android supports Java Calendar.getFirstDayOfWeek(). This will tell you the correct first day of the week in the current region.

Please keep in mind that some people may want to have another first day of the week from their locale.

If you can afford a little more apk, you can just bring Joda Time. You can simply add .jar from the site to your project building path.
