I recently heard about Qt and read how fun it is to develop. By the way, I also buy the Nokia N900, and I heard that its Maemo 5 operating system supports Qt very well, so I thought I would do it.
I am a .NET developer, so I would rather work on Windows and, if possible, use Visual Studio. I downloaded the latest version of the Qt SDK. I launched Qt Creator and created a simple Qt4 Gui application. It worked fine, however I could not find any compilation options for Maemo 5 anywhere.
Then I downloaded the Visual Studio plugin and tried to create a βQt applicationβ with this, however, no matter what type of Qt project I chose, after clicking the βOKβ button, the dialog box reappeared, so it could not create anything.
I also read about the Maemo 5 SDK, however it only works on Linux. (Each walkthrough for Windows began with creating a Linux virtual machine.) However, I am not familiar with Linux at all, so I would rather stay on Windows.
So my question is: is it possible to create Qt applications that will run on Maemo 5 when developing on Windows, or is this not possible?
Thank you in advance for any answers.
