Rails on Windows: Slow?

I am doing initial testing for a Rails application that will be deployed on Windows, but the development server on VirtualBox is very slow. I have never seen anything like it on Linux (but the server platform must be Windows), even on an identical virtual device.

Is Rails on Windows Viable in Speed?

I, on the other hand, believe that it is quite stable and does not have any speed problems.

I use Rails with Windows and Linux (still using it with Mac OSX) and had exactly the same response time.

In my case, "rails -v" took 15 seconds before, while after unpacking (from about 54,000 files ...) it took only 2 seconds, as it was when I initially installed Ruby.
