I'm crazy? Demos on jQuery 'effects' page do not work in any browser

Question

I want to make sure I'm not crazy, because I cannot get any of the effect demos for working with jQuery demo pages. I thought it could be my new version of Firebug (1.5.2) or Firefox in general, but they also do not work in IE or Chrome.

Here are links where demos don't work. One for highlighting and one for exploding. By the way, highlight the one I'm trying to use. Maybe this is a new version of jQuery user interface? Anyone else not working?
