Import files directly into SVN repo without checking first

I use SVN and have a repository on the remote machine. Sometimes, when I work on my local machine, I understand that I need to add some new files to the repo. The usual procedure that I know will be as follows:

  • in the current folder on my local machine check all SVN repositories
  • enter
  • copy the interesting file here
  • commit

But it can be a little tiring. Interestingly, for some reason I can omit steps 1 to 3 and import the “interesting” file into SVN directly, without having to check the repo first?

Perhaps svn importthis is what you want? See the documentation for more details.
