I tried to find an explanation for this issue, but could not.
I'm new to iPhone development, and I was wondering why the iPhone doesn't allow / launch more than one application at a time?
I am sure that this is a design function, not a lack of functionality.
Can someone explain technical / non-technical words to me why you cannot run more than one application at a time on iPhone.
Many thanks.

This is just an iPhone architecture solution. Although there are some background tasks and limited streaming, this is a big part of the application.
There may not be future versions of the OS, and you need to know which calls are thread safe and which are not, but at the moment you should assume that your application only works.
