Can you create sub-applications in applications in IIS / ASP.Net

We have a global application (well out of my control) that runs many sites. I would like to create a new application (as I cant extension, etc.) in a folder so that it can be obtained as follows.

Is it really possible or just a dream dream; I know that it is possible to install additional places for assemblies (according to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/4191fzwb(VS.80).aspx ), but I can’t be sure of the complete application.

You can create a new virtual application from IIS in the main application, which is very simple, but you obviously need to have access to IIS.
