Please recommend * easy * configure your device to visually indicate build status

I'm going to talk at Code Camp in Philadelphia soon on Continuous Integration. I have no experience with lava lamps, ambient balls or anything else, but I think that would be a great addition to the demo, inspiring enthusiasm.

Can anyone recommend a very easy to configure / use device that I could buy and quickly show? I hope for something that connects via USB, if possible, as network or wireless and, at best, will be spotty.

I am going to use CruiseControl.NET and / or Hudson with MSBuild.

Thank!

Since this is x10, you do not need Wi-Fi, or network, or subscription, or anything else. You will need a serial port. In my case, I had only USB, so I used the USB-Serial converter from IOGear and it works fine under Windows 2008 64bit (using their Vista 64 drivers, which you have to download).
