How to get SSRS 2008 R2 for export / rendering in Excel 2007 format?

I have a report with ~ 1k columns and ~ 17k rows, and I'm trying to display it in Excel 2007 using SSRS 2008 R2 Nov CTP.

SSRS team members mentioned in several places that the Excel 2007 format is included in 2008 R2, for example:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/69545568-73cb-4f4c-8f35-44472ba6d013

Now, of course, it is possible that he has not yet hit the product (at least starting with Nov CTP), and if so, it would be good to know too (and ideally, when it will be in the product).

A replay report and data (along with attempts to show that the existing interface is still in Excel 2003 format) are attached to the bottom of this blog post, FWIW:

Unfortunately, it looks like I misinterpreted Jin Chen's answer ("There is good news, we have improved the capabilities of SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2") - later there was a response from another SSRS member that says 2008 R2 does not support xlsx / output Excel 2007:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sqlreportingservices/thread/87cfd5d4-ea3c-4250-aab8-a1a3dffa3241

Regarding full-featured rendering of xlsx Excel 2007, it is definitely on our list, but it will be published after SSRS 2008 R2.

So, maybe it was in R2, but it was cut, but in any case now it is not an option.
