My text editor for working with PHP is Panic Coda. But for Ruby on Rails, the autocomplete function is constantly on my way, and standardizing ROR on 2 tabs of space doesn't work very well with Coda settings. I return to TextMate for ROR to work, but wondered if there are any better options.
If you think it's worth a try, in my opinion, TextMate is the best, but it's not free.
Integrated borders work very well for Ruby and Ruby On Rails.
There are also restrictions for Subversion / Git / etc. which can be very useful when developing.

+1 Textmate
I used Eclipse / Radrails for a year and it sucks completely.
