How to reorganize large projects in a visual studio

I always run into a problem when my projects in Visual Studio (2008) become huge monsters and everything is usually thrown into a web application project. I know that I checked some open source materials, which, as a rule, have several projects within the solution, each of which has its own responsibilities.

Does anyone have any tips on how to reorganize this? What should be in a separate project or part of a web project? Can you point me to any reference materials on this subject, or is that what you are used to with time?
