In SQL / MySQL, are there reasons to not establish a one-to-one relationship in the same table?

A one-to-one relationship can usually be stored in one table. Is there any reason not to store them in the same table?

The number and type of columns. There is a limit on the size of the columns in the table. See here . A maximum of 8,060 bytes per line.

Very large tables can also affect performance and are difficult to optimize and index well.
