Resharper 5.0 - Initial Impressions

Now that VS 2010 is officially released, I’m thinking about upgrading to Resharper 5.0, and I was just wondering if any of you can provide any feedback on your experiences so far.

Some specific questions:

  • I like Resharper a lot, but it's pretty slow if you have a slow drive (one of my machines has a 5400RPM drive and it doesn't work very optimally on that machine.). I was just wondering if you noticed any speed improvements in 5.0.
  • Is Resharper 5.0 required for VS 2010 or will Resharper 4.5.1 work? I did not find anything specific on the JetBrains website, but maybe I just skipped it. For VS 2010, the impression I get is 5.0.
  • Any other feedback you have on Resharper 5.0, and what you like / dislike, is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure when I'm going to officially migrate to VS 2010, but I think I could go and get Resharper 5.0, even if I stay on VS 2008 for a while. Are there any new features in 5.0 that you found that are really good, that are not in version 4.5.1 (I tested the functions , but nothing really jumps out, except for the support for native nunit, which looks good).

Thanks for your feedback.

Performance is comparable to Resharper 4.5. There are a couple of very nice new features - in particular, a great version Inspect > Code Issues in Solution. See http://www.jetbrains.com/resharper/whatsnew/index.html?R5blog , as mentioned by Semih.
