Delphi 2010 Datasnap - Design Request

I am exploring porting a Delphi application with a thick SQL client to Multi Tier thin clients and considering using Datasnap in Delphi 2010. I have been working on White Paper written by Bob Swart and have expanded this further.

My main question is that I want to make the server side efficient in terms of connections and SQL queries due to the simultaneous launch of several queries and remaining open for polling data, can someone point me in the direction for guidance? on how to design a Datasnap application for the real world, as the demo does not go into the details.

Thanks Matt
