How to disable maven collection when using Maven 2.0 integration for eclipse?

How do I disconnect the "Maven 2.0 integration" plugin from starting the maven build if you saved "build automatically"?

I am sure that earlier it was a check box to disable maven collection earlier, but after updating Ubuntu; eclipse seems to have been updated in the process, and now I cannot find a way to disable the maven build. The maven construct takes literally minutes (about 5 minutes or so), and it only takes to launch the java assembly used to complete in seconds.

Is it possible to disable it or just hide it?

If this is not possible, can eclipse compile my maven project without a plugin?

(The google attempt for the solution closes, I got the answer, there were several archives of this old post , where basically the answer was "You should be able to disable the Maven constructor in the project settings ...", which actually does not help, because I can not find any on / off settings there)

To disable Maven Project Builder, right-click in your project, then Settings> Builders and uncheck the Maven Project Builder checkbox (you cannot change the default maven builder).
