Programming practice

I decided to get some experience working on some project this summer. Due to local market demand, I would prefer to learn Java (Standard and Enterprise Editions). But I can’t even guess which project to do. I recently got some ideas about C. With C, I could contribute to huge Linux projects. I do not mean that my work will certainly be done. I could get the code and practice with it. But C is not true to work well in my area. In the case of JavaSE, it is possible to develop some desktop applications. But thinking about JavaEE, I'm stuck. I will be very grateful for the answers.

CodingBat.com will give you good Java practice.

Project Euler is still the best for the entire practice. You can use any language in which you would like to solve problems.

For real projects, I almost always start with something as simple as a Twitter client. This gives you access to all the basics, as well as the user interface and network communication. You can work from there. Just don’t start with something so overwhelming that you cannot understand it and want to give up. This is not going anywhere.

Best advice: work on a project in which you have a personal interest. Perhaps something based on your hobbies.
