Using WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application does not show me any information

Question

I am trying to use WPFPerf to profile a WPF 4.0 application (I have the latest WPFPerf that should work with WPF 4.0 aps). I run the Visual Profiler tool from WPFPerf, I start my application, but nothing happens after that, and the tree of elements from Visual Profiler is empty. No other error message is displayed. Can someone tell me what I'm not doing right?

As additional information, when I try to parse my .exe assembly or any other assembly from my application, I get a BadFormatException according to which the assembly was created with a newer version of .NET. On the download page http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=191420 I see that this version of WPFPerf should be ok for my application
