Latex Confirmations

I am \documentclass{article}in latex. What would I say the name of the adviser on the first page? I have seen examples in latex for things like \principaladvisor{}, but this seems like a class of abstracts. I assume that with the class of the article I would list the adviser as a co-author or something else. How to do it?

Listing the adviser as a co-author is, of course, the easiest option :).

Another way to mention your advisor is to use the environment \thanks{}. It will appear in a footnote on your cover page in this case.
