What types of programs are used by C / C ++?

I started with C at school, went to Java, and now I mainly use P (Php, Perl, Python), so my effect on lower-level languages ​​has almost disappeared. I would like to return to it, but I can never justify using C on top of Perl or Python. What real applications are being developed in these languages?
