Testing DirectX Applications on a Virtual PC?

I would like to test my WPF applications using Windows Virtual PC under Windows 7. In my C # code, I check the WPF level, and if it's less than 2, I will disable the DirectX call. For testing on Windows XP, I would like to use Windows Virtual PC, but it seems to work only in program mode. Thus, the level is always <2.

Any ideas on how to enable DirectX to work on a virtual PC?

Thus, support is not completely stable, but worth a try if you have no other option.
