This can also happen if redirect_uri sent with the request https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth is not in the list of valid OAuth redirect URIs below:

  • Settings β†’ Advanced β†’ Security

After much trial and error, when I added redirect_uri , which I used ( https://www.facebook.com/connect/login_success.html in my case), I unexpectedly got a step back this error.

This issue occurs because you incorrectly configured the link to your site in FaceBook.

Go to Facebook Developers Page

1. Select "Settings" 2. Press "ADD PlatForm" 3. Select "Wesite" 4. Enter the name of your site

Finally, save the settings, which are all

Facebook doesn't care what the actual IP address is on your server, but it will check that the domain name of the link page matches the domain registered in facebook. The problem is that any URL that you are currently using is hosting your application is not configured in your application configuration. Go to your application settings and make sure the URLs match.

In my case, it was www. what I omitted, for example, for example:

http://website.com

instead

http://www.website.com

I had this problem because at first I did not host the application domain on the Settings page. And after I added "example.com" to the application domain field (suppose the URL is http://www.example.com ), the problem no longer exists.

If it doesn’t work even after you set the website URL in Settings β†’ Basic tab and Settings β†’ Advanced β†’ Valid OAuth redirect URIs , try the following and check if it works.

Step 1) Go, Settings β†’ General β†’ Contact email address (enter the name of the email address with which you want to synchronize the application)

Step 2) Go, Status and View β†’ Status β†’ Enable Options as Yes (make your application visible to the public)

Now restart the application and check if it works properly.

Your application should be in the same domain as in facebook settings.

Facebook app settings

Although several times answered similar information, this is my FYI experience

  • Testing on localhost - I wondered if this might be a problem, but not.
  • app_id and redirect_uri .
  • Correctly encoded URLs.

So why this error?

See the Facebook Community , like me, for an important missing piece of the puzzle.

I.e:

 <a href="https://www.facebook.com/dialog/share? app_id=1234567890 &display=page &href=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.org <-- This &redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.org" <-- and This target="_overTheRainbow">Tell the world about this awesomeness!</a>

You must map the link URLs provided on Facebook for the app to app_id .

Yes. This is a common facebook api problem. Do not use www in front of the url. This will solve the problem.

I had the same issue when I posted links to a Facebook wall.

I have done this:

From https://developers.facebook.com/

On The Migration Email Security tab is enabled. So I just turned it off, and after that it works for me now.

Hope this solves the problem for others.

Go to settings and then the "Advanced" tab. At the bottom of the "Built-in OAuth Login Browser" enable this option. then your problem will be solved.
