This URL is not allowed by application configuration. One or more of the specified URLs is not allowed in the application settings

This error appears during the authentication process:

This URL is not allowed by application configuration. One or more of the specified URLs is not allowed by the application settings. It must match the website URL or canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the application domains.

Why is this happening, and how can I fix it?

I ran into this problem when I was doing some training exercises a few days ago, creating a Facebook application and using Heroku as a host. My problem was that I had the wrong URL in the settings of my Facebook application for the value of the β€œWebsite with Facebook” field.

In addition, for some hosts, the URL may change depending on the settings, etc., so check the hosting URL for the application and make sure that you have the correct URL in this field in the Facebook application settings.

As soon as I updated mine, the error disappeared, and everything is in order.

Good luck

Connie

If you are on your development machine, make sure that you do not mix localhost: 3000 with 0.0.0.0{000. Although it’s almost the same thing on your development machine, the Facebook API will not know about it and will return an error. Make sure the URL is the same everywhere.
