Let's say you wrote the following social networking phenomenon (or any other web application). You have chosen Java, Tomcat, Apache and Oracle (or any other setting that you like). You know you want to get it there on the Internet, and people sign up and start using it.
What is the next step for something you wrote at home and want to get it there in the wild?
Edit:Sorry for the confusion, I really was in a hurry to get this post before I hit the road, so I really meant the commercial deployment. Not only put it on a web server somewhere, but also did something creepy. If you have a dedicated server from an Internet provider, that will be related to setting up the database that you want, with the required scheme and what type of access you want to do what you want. I apologize if this may still sound a little vile, but I have never had to do something like this before, and I just wondered if it was something complicated. It can be as simple as registering and popping up your web application on the server and it. I just wondered if there was anything else, and if there were any things to look for, or any errors.I also appreciate the answers regarding marketing as they were very informative. So thanks to those who talked about this!
