Microsoft SQL Server for transferring Oracle data (conversion) (other RDBMS are also in order)

Can you give some tips or recommendations, best practices for Microsoft MicroSoft server for Oracle data migration? IMHO, this is what comes best with experience. Therefore, I would like to take advantage of your experience. Please share information about what you have in designing, modeling, testing or customizing for a data migration project. I would really appreciate if you share your experience, even if it is not between the two RDBMSs.

Oracle offers a free IDE, SQL Developer, which includes a Migration migration tool to support data migration from MS SQL to Oracle. Check this.
